TW-MI-097Techniek

The profound impact of the financial sector on our daily lives has become increasingly evident, especially considering the significant developments of the last fifteen years. This has heightened the importance of not only understanding but also gaining insights into the financial world. Today, there is a pronounced demand for individuals skilled in interpreting financial mathematical models and applying them effectively to real-world market scenarios.

Stocks and bonds are central to the financial market. Companies issue stocks to gather funds for their investments. Meanwhile, investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, and private individuals, engage in stock investment, seeking profitable returns. Banks are not only participants in stock and option trading but also innovators in creating diverse financial products like options.

The Finance minor offers an opportunity to explore the nuances of these financial instruments. You will learn to evaluate their value and understand the intricate relationships among options, stocks, and bonds using mathematical tools. The ability to adeptly handle mathematical models, particularly in uncertain financial environments, is a skill with wide-ranging applications.

The curriculum of the Finance minor includes:

  • Option Valuation Methods

  • Time Series Analysis
