Over deze cursus

We cover topics such as energy and climate, life cycle assessment, scarcity of resources, business implications of sustainability, closed-loop supply chains, carbon allocation and footprinting, carbon emissions and logistics, sustainable supply chain design, green sourcing, supply chain collaboration for sustainability, design for sustainability, and social responsibility in supply chains.

Additional lecture information:
The course is discussion-based. Several of the class meetings have reading assignments associated with them, to be completed before that meeting. Groups of 3-4 students work on a final project (unique for each group). Class meetings cover various formats, including interactive lectures, case discussions, and group presentations. Each group works on a final project. The project preferably takes place at a company (to be arranged by the students), although other forms such as a detailed case study or analysis and extension of a relevant paper are also acceptable. The project topics are subject to instructors’ approval. For timely assessment of this, the groups will first prepare a one-page project pre-proposal, which needs to be approved by the company and course instructors (due week 5). At the end of the semester, each group will have prepared a website dedicated to the final project, and there will also be a poster presentation session, where the students present their projects to each other and give/receive feedback. For the assessment of the final projects, group members are asked to do a peer assessment of the contributions of each of the other group members and these assessments will be taken into account when the final project is graded.

Additional test information:
If a group scores a too low grade for the final report to pass for the course, then they get the opportunity to do rework for their final project and will be assessed for a second time.
