Over deze minor

An interdisciplinary approach is needed to face the current, complex healthcare challenges. Today, these challenges come from as different and varied sources as climate change, lack of workforce, international interdependence (i.e. pandemics/epidemics), and socio-economic inequality. This minor is therefore grounded on three pillars: One Health, which revolves around a holistic and integrated health improvement; Population Health Management, which stresses the relevance of demographic studies and policymaking in setting up modern health services; and Sustainability, which is meant to provide the tools that students need to think about health issues in long-term perspectives.

This minor will give you different perspectives how you can develop a health system that is sustainable for humans, climate and the healthcare system. After completing the minor, you will understand the concept of One Health and its determinants, the principle of Sustainability and its critical development, as well as the organization and governance of healthcare. Students understand and critically assess the changing relationships between healthcare and sustainability. Students apply the One Health approach and test its overall sustainability through such different disciplinary perspectives as public policy, humanities, data science, law, and medicine.
