Sustainability in action

0SK70

About this course

This course is part of the Sustainability Certificate and focusses on translating the insights gained from foundational sustainability courses into action and reflective practice. This course adds an action-oriented component to sustainability courses included in the Sustainability Thematic Learning Area, in particular 0SK40, 0SV10, 0SV40, which are also core components of the certificate.

Sustainability in Action focuses on developing transdisciplinary competencies, including systems and futures thinking, problem framing, futures literacy and communicating with different stakeholders about sustainability. These are key skills in today’s fast-evolving labour market and in industries aiming at improving their sustainability strategy.

The course is structured around three main components: (i) attending, preparing and conducting one Climate Fresk workshop; (ii) your sustainability action of choice; (iii) reflection on learnings.

Previous foundational knowledge on sustainability is required for this course, and it can be attained by focusing on the mandatory courses required for the sustainability certificate.

After attending the kick-off of the course, students are required to attend the workshop & reflection sessions and give a workshop themselves. The rest of the course is based on individual assignments that the student can structure in their own time.
