About this course
This course prepares BSc students for a BSc thesis at the ENR group. Students are introduced to the core themes of the ENR group: climate change, social-ecological systems, and environmental-economic behavioural choices. Each theme is dealt with in lectures on the economic theory of the topic and in tutorials or computer practical to practice a quantitative analysis tool for this topic, such as bioeconomic models, statistical analysis, or cost-benefit analysis. In addition students write a literature review on a topic of their own choice, which may or may not be related to any of the three core themes.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of this course students are expected to be able to:
- Explain for the core ENR themes what economic mechanisms underlie these problems and how they might be analyzed
- Apply basic quantitative economic analysis tools to analyze environmental problems
- Write a literature review on an environmental-economic topic of their own choice

Assumed Knowledge:
ENR21306 Environmental Economics for Environmental Sciences or ENR20306 Environmental Economics and Policy.
