Learning and Instruction Theory

ELS38806

About this course

This course offers students a theoretical background in the domain of learning and instruction at an introductory (BSc) level. The course specifically focuses on learning and instruction in school settings (secondary and vocational education). Students are expected through practical assignments (individual and group work) to apply learning and instruction theory in their own lessons and to reflect on these experiences in their portfolio. Every student is assigned a mentor from WUR and the secondary school to prepare and supervise the internship, who will both provide feedback on the development as a teacher, including the application of the theories provided in this course.

NB: this course is part of the Minor Education and is integrated with an internship at a school. Note that if you are interested, you can contact the coordinator Rodney Nanninga (minor.educatie@wur.nl) about six months before the actual start of the minor, so that the internship can be organized.
