Q1 Timeslot D (Cohort ≤ 2022) and Q4, Timeslot A (Cohort 2023)

The course covers factor analysis, logistic regression analysis, multi-level analysis, and effect size calculations as additional statistical procedures over the content offered in 0HV50.
With regards to ethical issues, the course considers appropriate ways of dealing with participants, and appropriate ways of dealing with data, data collection and data analysis.

Learning outcomes

The ultimate goal is for students to be able to make sense out of dealing with quantitative data. This includes:

  • A healthy skepticism towards the content of data sets
  • A methodical approach to dealing with data in a syntax based way
  • An understanding and working knowledge of the assumptions underlying the statistical procedures
  • Being able to conduct appropriate statistical analyses
  • Being able to interpret the outcomes of statistical analyses

Compared to Behavioral Research Methods 2: Dealing with data ( 0HV50), the course includes several additional statistical procedures. In addition, the course emphasizes the importance of effect size calculations. Finally, students will acquire knowledge about ethical issues surrounding the execution of lab experiments and dealing with data.

Prior knowledge

  • Registered for a degree programme other than
  • HBO-TOP Applied Physics, Pre-Master
  • In Block 4 you may not be part of one of the following target groups
  • PARTICIPANTS Q1
